Kamethi Calculator – Manage Your Group Funds

Kamethi (also known as Chit Fund, BC, or Committee) is a popular way of saving and borrowing money in India among friends, family, or business groups. A group of people pool a fixed amount every month, and one person takes the total money (Pot) by bidding a "Boli" (Ghaata/Loss).

This calculator helps you determine exactly how much every member has to pay after deducting the auction amount (dividend), making the process transparent and confusion-free.

  How is Kamethi Share Calculated?

Unlike bank loans with complex interest rates, Kamethi works on a simple Dividend Distribution model. The auction amount (Boli) is treated as profit and distributed equally among all members.

Net Pay = (Total / Members) - (Boli / Members)
Total Amount: The full value of the committee (e.g., 5 Lakh).
Members: Total number of people in the group (e.g., 20).
Boli (Auction): The amount foregone by the winner (Ghaata).
Net Pay: The actual amount every member pays after profit deduction.

  Smart Tips for Kamethi Groups

Documentation: Even if it's a friend group, maintain a written record or digital sheet of who took the money and at what Boli.
Profit vs. Loss: Taking the money early usually means you pay more interest (via Boli). Taking it late usually means you earn profit (Dividend).
Limit the Boli: Set a maximum limit for the Boli (e.g., 30% to 40% of total) so that the pot value doesn't drop too low for the winner.

Instant Share Calculation

No need for manual division. Just enter the Boli amount, and instantly see exactly how much every member needs to contribute.

Profit Visibility

Clearly see how much "Dividend Profit" you are earning in a specific month due to a high auction (Boli).

Transparency

Avoid disputes in your group by using a standardized calculator that everyone can trust for monthly installments.

What is "Boli" or "Ghaata"?

Boli is the amount a member is willing to forego (discount) from the total pot to get the money immediately. This discounted amount is distributed among other members as profit.

How is Dividend calculated?

Dividend = (Total Boli Amount) / (Total Number of Members). This amount is subtracted from the standard monthly share.
